Mountain Home Desert Retreat is a non-profit, non-denominational, church retreat. This unique property is nestled in a small town in the Sierra Pelona Mountains and houses many buildings made from native rock, built around the 1930s. The eye-catching Chapel is the heart of the property. It serves as a place of worship as well as a backdrop for movies and TV shows. Mountain Home Desert Retreat also has many rock buildings where groups or individuals can come for the day or stay overnight. In fact, several have been recently refurbished.
Since the beginning, Mountain Home Desert Retreat has had a special purpose. First being used as a home for wayward girls, to later being largely used for church groups to retreat from the city and enjoy worship and fellowship in the desert. Though this continues to be our mission, we hope to open our property to other individuals wanting some quiet inspiration, such as artists and writers. Anyone who has visited Mountain Home Desert Retreat can tell you that it’s a special place.
